Project WIN Interns Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
How does the program work?
We work in cooperation with the Warriior Transition Battalion's (WTB) WIN (Warriors in Transition) Program who performs screening and approval of our Interns. They supply us with the information regarding an interns interests which we compare to the employers screeing information we collect.
We pair healing soldiers to local businesses to provide training opportunities while in transition.
Interns:
Do I still receive my military pay and benefits?
Yes. You are still on active duty status and continue to receive your military pay and benfits while participating in the program.
Do I receive wages from my participating employer?
No. This is solely a training opportunity while you are still on active duty status.
How do I request more information or sign-up for the program?
Please fill-in our Intern Sign-up Form.
Do I have to have experience in the area I would like to receive training in?
No. You just have to have an interest and commit to the initial evaluation period.
What are my responsibilities while enrolled in the program?
The success of the Project WIN (Warrior Intern Network) program is based on our Intern's and Employer's commitment to work together. We also require a weekly evaluation form to guage your progress and satisfaction in the program.
What if I am unhappy at the location I am placed?
Most participants have been extremely happy with the program! If you find yourself unhappy, we are committed to helping both you and the employer find a workable solution. We work as a liasion or mediator acting on your and the employer's behalf.
We can always re-evaluate the positions your interested in and help you find something that is a better fit for you.
